Angels Among US

Angels among us

" Oh I believe there are angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours.
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give.
To guide us with the light of love. "

~ Alabama

Today I met an Angel, she helped my family and I in a time of need. I usually help others, I'm not used to needing help from other people. I truly believe that God sent Michelle to help me this week. My oldest son just grew out of his largest clothes (18-24 month clothing) and Michelle asked me to meet her at a .25 cent sale where she bought my boys some clothes and toys to go towards Christmas! I am grateful, because we wouldn't have been able to get them much because Jake has been home on medical leave to help me with the boys so I can heal from the birth. (he goes back to work soon; I'm going to miss him during the day!) Due to it being for 'maternity leave' he didn't get payed, thus we wont have a check to spend towards Christmas until January! Michelle made it to where we can give a little to our boys this year, even if we can scramble up something! So I would like to take a moment and thank God for the 'angels' that he sends our way in our time of need!

"My gracious Heavenly Father,

Today I bow my head in prayer to thank the of the help, and blessings you have sent our way. I pray that to all those who are deserving they receive you help in their time of need. Please watch over the firefighters as they fight to keep our land safe, I ask that you bless those who have lost their homes, and that you can watch over all of your children in this time of danger."

In the name of Thy son, Jesus Christ,

Amen

The Best Things In Life .....

 The Best Things In Life....

Today I got a chance to help a person who served our country. This vet's wife died 2 years ago, and shortly after his mother went too. After the funeral he was having coffee with his sister, and out of the blue he told her, "I'm going for a walk." That's where his journey started, his journey from Florida to see the oceans that touches California.

I met him at the park here in Boise, he was walking from person to person. He had slept in the park and someone robbed him, of his backpack, his only money (a grand 10 dollars) and of his watch. He was asking for 5 dollars to get bread and lunch meat, I watched at person after person told him to go away, and to leave them alone.  About to give up, he started to walk to his favorite place in the park; a bench just inside the entrance, away from the playground, the fountains, and the people; i asked him if he was able to get the 5 dollars he needed. This man was not dirty, did not look like the bum that the people made him out to be, he did not smell of cigarets or booze, he looked like he had been walking for ages and needed help. I told him that I could help him get a backpack and maybe some food.

While I was bringing him to my house to get him the backpack, he confided in me and told me about his travels. When he asked my name, and I answered Samantha, he cried, that was his late wife's name. He told me of his travels, and his sickness that was killing him. This vet wanted to see the United States, the home he fought for, before he died.  This picture reminded me of him, its like God was calling for that person to come here, for me to meet him. When we return back to the park he asked my husband to lead a pryer.

I am grateful that I got a chance to meet him before it was time for him to move on to the next town. he reminded me that my family is what is important and that life is short, shorter for some, and that I should live it and have fun.
